Before the Tayamni became the Tayamni, they were a different species. After long studies and the work of the House of Uanna, we learned they had been called the Dusmanyu.
History tells us their transformation came about as part of an effort to save the Dusmanyu from extinction. They were, save for one dying female, literally extinct.
“A million years ago they found her…”

However, a team of interdimensional beings from åyAm, found the last surviving member of the Dusmanyu and made some assumptions. They found her in a crumbling palace, on a large asteroid, at an abandoned mining operation. The asteroid came to be known as Dugnamtar.
This female, the last surviving member of the Dusmanyu, was dying herself. Her people, whoever they had been, had made bad decisions, one after another, over hundreds of thousands of years — replacing pieces of their bodies with technology, modifying their natural instincts, and breeding out diversity. They began to value wealth, the accumulation of riches, above all else.
…her people were almost extinct, their past as creatures of flesh and blood, forgotten. Their culture, their history, erased by time and political upheavals.
In the process, they destroyed their home world. They destroyed themselves.
The Nine found other Dusmanyu, frozen, buried members of this species whose DNA remained intact. However, there were too few of them, containing too little genetic diversity for the species to be genetically viable. So, they spliced their own DNA with this dying species. Thus, the Tayamni were born.
Like humanity, the Tayamni went through their own evolution. However, the Nine gave them technology and provided guidance. The Tayamni progressed through an initial Matriarchal phase, to a Patriarchy and then back to a more balanced Matriarchy.
